The curved metal I first started with, the weight the balance point. When I welded to the base It took a couple of weeks of sketching and thinking as to what the piece was to become. I eventually decided it needed height it needed to absorb. I also tested lots of patterns for the inside, patterns and colours until I felt I found what fitted the best.
